Instant Noodle with pork

Bought the instant noodle at a supermarket in Taiwan which come with a big piece of pork in it.
Tasty and very filling.

Saw the queue was short (compared to usual) and bought Spicy Cheese donut from Donut Factory to try. Soft and chewy. Cheesey also but not as spicy as I would like.

Pasta Cafe

Ordered 1+1+1 Combo set => Salad/Soup + Spaghetti + Gratin for $22.90 ++.
Ordered mushroom soup + seafood spaghetti in tomato sauce + seafood gratin.
Got a shock when they served the spaghetti + gratin in small bowls. Very difficult to eat. Especially it come with a lot of shells with crayfish, mussel and prawn in them.
The seafood spaghetti in tomato sauce is a bit too watery.

Also top $3 for a green cooler. Tasted more like lemongrass drink, but menu written it is made up of apple, aloe vera and honey. Funny taste.

Also order spicy shrimp salad. The dressing seems to be watered down thai chilli sauce. Very simply over a few pieces of shrimp on a bed of vegetables.

Disappointing. Will think twice before going there for meal again.

Swiss Bake

Ordered 3 different cakes from Swiss Bake for this birthday.


The longan cake was full of longans on top of it. Crunchy with a biscuit base. Use a sharp knife when slicing the cake.

The brownies cheese is full of cubes of brownies. Mmmm..
The chocolate devil looks very sinfully and full of chocolate mousse.

Briyani Rice. Nice. The herb is not too much.

Madras Curry Chicken. This is one of the dish which is eaten clean.

Fish Tikka. Fish is soft and nice. Everyone's fav.

Tandoori Chicken.

Mixed Vegetable with Mushroom. An another cleanup dish
Aloo Tikki. Unpopular, maybe because most look burnt.

Mango Kheer. Most said it taste a bit weird. Seem to have rice in it.

Peony Japanese Cuisine

Went to this restaurant for lunch which come highly recommended by someone who stays in Taipei but have not tried it yet. Easy to find place. Just across the Taipei 101. Very grand looking place with valet-parking. A lot of peony painted on the glass wall => maybe that's why it is called Peony. Menu come in both English and Chinese languages which is not always found in Taiwan (Luckily for me ,sweat!). There are a number of lunch sets range from about NT$1000 to NT$3500. The chef's recommendation set for that day range from $1500(grilled beef), $2000(lobster), $2500(forgot what's) to $3500(shark's fin). Order the $2000 set.

The meal start with a large bowl of sashimi. Very large bowl of ice with sashimi on top. Nearly want to ask if that is for one person's. There is raw prawn, tuna, tai, finely chopped yam, seasoned chopped fish with freshly grated wasabi. The chopped yam is unquie and cruchy as most places offer grated yam.

Next came grilled vegetables and fruit salad. Never thought dragon fruit can add into a salad.

Followed by grilled beef on hot stone. The sun dried tomatoes go well with the beef. Beef should have cut into smaller pieces since have to eat with chopsticks.

The deepfried black seasame tofu is stuffed with scallop and served with tempura sauce. Normal as I seem to have eaten a similar version at another Japanese restaurant in Taipei.

Next came my main course the lobster. The lobster meat is all cut up and easy to eat. Nice. Don't know what sauce it is but nice.

Followed by Ungai sushi and fried tofu. Normal

The soup dish is fish soup. Very fresh fish with a lot of finely shredded ginger. I cleaned up the whole bowl.

End my meal with a tofu cheese cake with rasberry sauce , and papaya and honey dew for fruit. From the choice of drink to end my meal, I had chosen iced green tea from hot/iced coffee, tea and green tea, which I found a bit to watery.

Will go again if I have $$$ or someone treat me, 'cos very expensive.
